Now here is a great opportunity for those who believe "getting COVID is good for you." There apparently may be places available in the new Delta variant research trials soon to get underway. For those who believe "getting COVID is good for you" here's your chance to be infected under controlled clinical conditions. You will be put in in the placebo group if you wish so you won't have to take the vaccine. Any takers?

There is a test but it is not performed on all samples.

How can I tell if I have the Delta variant? Do labs report that to the state?

That information may not be readily available. The viral tests that are used to determine if a person has COVID-19 are not designed to tell you what variant is causing the infection. Detecting the Delta variant, or other variants, requires a special type of testing called genomic sequencing. Due to the volume of COVID-19 cases, sequencing is not performed on all viral samples. However, because the Delta variant now accounts for the majority of COVID-19 cases in the United States, there is a strong likelihood that a positive test result indicates infection with the Delta variant.

Researchers Ready Lab-Grown Covid-19 Delta Variant for Human Trials
U.K. company is growing the highly contagious variant under tight lab controls for use in challenge studies

    By Jenny Strasburg
    Aug. 27, 2021 4:43 am ET

LONDON—While the rest of the world is trying to stamp out the Covid-19 Delta variant, British researchers are making progress growing a carefully controlled batch in a lab that they hope to use to infect volunteers in studies.

The effort marks a new phase in the U.K.’s human challenge trials, the only Covid-19 studies in the world intentionally exposing participants to the virus with the goal of developing new vaccines and treatments. Other researchers are also isolating and growing Covid variant specimens for study.

Pfizer partner to test COVID vaccine targeting Delta variant this month

    BY CHRISTIAAN HETZNER
    August 9, 2021 4:23 PM EDT

Pfizer partner BioNTech aims to begin tests this month to determine if an altered form of its COVID-19 vaccine can better protect against the far more contagious Delta variant.

The clinical trial, whose results are anticipated in the fourth quarter, will also examine whether a combination of jabs that includes an inoculation against Delta and the original “wild type” first discovered in Wuhan proves effective.

Ya,, Being tested with "new" experimental injections to see if they got it right, pretty sure that is going on everyday now with a large portion of the population. I'm not sure you know the point you are trying to make

The point is this thread states that getting COVID is "good for you." So if certain posters believe that why aren't they availing themselves of the opportunity to do something that is "good" for them and become infected with the virus?
