Default GOEX Black Powder Could Be Gone Forever

    Yikes !!!!

“Effective immediately, Hodgdon Powder Company, Inc. has made a decision to cease manufacturing operations at the company’s Camp Minden, Louisiana, site while evaluating strategic options for the black powder business. The business will wind down operations while an evaluation process on the future of the black powder business takes place.

It sounds like they may be just doing a reorganization or change of ownership. We may just end up with a new brand name of traditional black powder. Far too many Re-Enactments groups in the US for a business not to see potential sales continue.

The boy scout in me couldn't take the pressure..'be prepared'...so I picked up a few more lbs of Goex to add to the powder magazine.

I've been shooting with Pyrodex 'P' (FFFG) this fall to see how it compares, so far it looks like it will do as a good substitute in more ways than one.

Still, no word if Hodgdon has found a buyer for their Goex line, hopefully, some good news will come next year.
