    Demand is high with over 3 million people getting the code since the system went into effect on Friday but the process is quite efficient. My wait yesterday afternoon was less than five minutes. The steps are reasonably easy to follow. You can get your QR code here:

    https://covid-19.ontario.ca/get-proof/

    Incidentally, the Verify Ontario QR reader is not restricted just to businesses. Anyone can download it from Google Play or the Apple Store meaning you could verify the vaccination status of guests in your home, tradespeople, colleagues, hunters you share a camp with, etc. Just search "Verify Ontario" in the app stores.

    As for personal use what good is it to prove you could be less likely to end up with sever case.?

    The spread is very real amongst the vaccinated. When an entire family can catch it while vaxxed leaves it's efficiency questionable.

    If you are worried about covid maybe some rapid test could ease the minds of a gathering. . Who knows how effective they are either but purchased with a group or a camp is not that expensive.

    If it's keep the hospital's empty then explain why new Brunswick is being overwhelmed. They are full to brink and highly vaccinated. Restrictions and more .

    The personal benefit of the QR code is being able to more quickly and smoothly access various public locations that require proof of immunization.

    https://news.ontario.ca/en/release/1...elect-settings

    Restaurants and bars (excluding outdoor patios, as well as delivery and takeout);
    Nightclubs (including outdoor areas of the establishment);
    Meeting and event spaces, such as banquet halls and conference/convention centres;
    Facilities used for sports and fitness activities and personal fitness training, such as gyms, fitness and recreational facilities with the exception of youth recreational sport;
    Sporting events;
    Casinos, bingo halls and gaming establishments;
    Concerts, music festivals, theatres and cinemas;
    Strip clubs, bathhouses and sex clubs;
    Racing venues (e.g., horse racing).
    Those who are not interested in the QR code are free to use the previous proof of immunization process at least for the time being. The paper model is more vulnerable to fraud and may at some point be discontinued.

    Those not interested in vaccination will continue to be barred from entering the above listed events and locations.

    Watched some numpty standing with her phone out with her newly acquired QR code on the screen...the waitress said she didn't have the capability to read them. She didn't have the paper backup. The waitress was kind enough to let her take the time to go online to the Health Canada web site and look up her 'passport' info... that took some doing.

    It gets more comical by the day...

    Or,people who don't have a QR code can simply stay out of those places,besides,they're completely voluntary,temporary and will be completely useless and unrequired in about 3 months. There,see how easy that was?
    If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

    Good point about keeping a backup at least in the initial stages. The QR system has been in place for less than a week. Until which time more locations adapt to the new system it's probably a good plan to keep a PDF file of the original proof of immunization on your phone or have a paper backup.

    I've loaded the Verify Ontario QR reader on to my phone to test it. Here is what you see (minus person information) when the code is scanned.

    That is because the enhanced QR code thing has not been implemented yet.

    Question Tuesday with Rocco- Is there any recourse for those who are unvaccinated when denied service?

    I joined that group when it was about 15000. Next morning it was 80k.(when mandate first came out) owner of the page said Facebook is not letting him accept new ppl to join or share his own page to others or it would be 200k+. Pretty crazy, Lots of great people on that page.
