    Default used cars/truck prices INSANE.

so ive been looking around for either a pickup or a durango.

older used models with 100k on them are literally going for the same if not at a higher price than bran new trucks out the factory. its just insane.

apperantly the used car/truck market is up almost 30%. the highest its ever been.

guess ill be waiting to buy a truck.

theres god news if your looking to sell your used truck or car tho. you'll get top $ for it!

Yeah, it's a crazy world. Got a call from the dealer on the 1 yr anniversary of buying my truck. I was offered 12K more than what I paid last year. Only issue, a new one with the same options is 30K more than last year.

Think I will stick with the devil I know.

How is it one careless cigarette can cause a forest fire, but it takes a whole box of matches to light a campfire?

I actually think if you can’t justify buying new vehicle outright. This is time to lease see what payments are. May be better off than buying a 5-6 year of vehicle that’s in need constant repairs

Lease prices are crazy too, with the shortage, they rarely give any deals.

I was thinking of getting out of my current lease, ppl offering incentives over my current payments to take over ! so I checked with the dealership and new ones are leased alot higher ...

    Default used cars/truck prices INSANE.

I was searching for a new truck back in April and it was the same situation. Used trucks were way overpriced. GM had 0% financing and when I did the math it was actually cheaper to buy new. Luckily my old truck still ran and had a some life left in it because I just received my truck about 2 weeks ago.
It took about 4 hrs to sell my old truck when I listed it at full price.
Then last Saturday my son wrote off his car and I can’t believe the price of used cars now. The same vehicle he was driving that I bought 2 yrs ago for $4000 is now $7500. Still waiting on insurance for an offer so I’m preparing for a battle.

We are in the same boat .

Looking for a decent truck but now the last week we are thinking of holding off for the moment. With gas prices moving up they way they are I think it's just better if we look around and wait for a decent deal. No rush if it take 2 or 3 months to find a good a deal then so be it . I was looking at one in Alberta lol. Take a week to go look at a truck.

When Gas hits $2.50/lt there'll be a lot of guys dumping the big gas guzzlers back onto the market and will drive prices down. Be good time to pick up a truck by assuming the other guys loan agreement from the dealer (if they still do that ?).

This is just the start of all the pain folks; with Carbon Taxes being incremental and affecting everything we eat and buy and both Provincial and Federal budgets way in the red, we in the middle class will see our standard of living drop drastically over the next few years.

We just bought a new VW Taos, put about 500 miles on it, gets a crazy 55 mpg imp/45 mpg US, about 5.0 l/100km highway driving at 110-115 about 70 mph. Goes like pike snot and comfortable like a sofa. That's frugal. We had to wait about a month for the dealer to find one for us.
