I got an ATV this year, so wont be pulling the stuff myself anymore, this will change the game for sure.
I still have to come up with a way to connect the sled to the ATV though, as ill have to pull it on paved road for about a block till I get to my Ice access. [from parents cottage, bubblers on dock wont let the ice freeze]

you can get a variety of hitches that bolt onto the back of your ATV, regular 2 inch square tube you can put a ball hitch in there, or the flipper type tongue. I added one of these to the front of my hut, makes it quick to attach and it's spring loaded to absorb some of the bumps. https://www.kimpex.com/en-ca/product...g-loaded-hitch

We are hoping to do our annual Simcoe perch trip this year. Covid shut us down last year. Other than that we will icefish Lake St Clair and Rondeau Bay this coming season.
If it is cold enough we will also fish the Thames River for Walleye but it has to be a cold winter for that high current water to be safe enough to fish.

Clam sells a nice hut hitch that bolts onto you portable. They also sell a runner kit to secure to your portable sled if that's what you have that will save your plastic hut sled.
It won't last forever on cement but will give you a few years of service depending on how many trips you make. Outside of that, a small wheeled trailer to put your hut on while travelling on the cement maybe your best option.

Princess Auto sells those 12”/16” wheels cheap, it would be easy to build a little axle to mount them and just run some lumber from the axle to your hitch. You could run with that out on the lake as long as the snow was packed

For those using the 1lb propane tanks, it might be a good idea to stock up before the prices really go nuts. CTC has them for $20 for a 3 pack, some guys in the US say 2 packs are already $17.

In your opinion, do the larger tanks burn cleaner ?
with the ATV I was thinking of getting a converter for the heater and run 5lbs tank, which can be refilled.

They seem to burn the same to me. That being said I haven't used a 1 lb tank for my buddy heater for 3 or 4 years.

I use 20 lb tanks and it's so much more convenient and cheaper. They also work better on those really cold days as the liquid/vapour interface area is much larger.

All you need is the hose, green one without the filter, or a black hose with the propane filter.

I mounted a 10 lb. tank in my clam. Doesn't take up a lot of space and will heat my Mr. Heater for a lot of trips
