My wife and i just went through this. They won’t let you board the plane back to canada without a valid, negative test. We also used the free walgreens NAAT test, and had the results emailed to us within 3 hrs.

Good news for the day trippers...

As of Nov. 30, fully vaccinated Canadians and permanent residents returning home after short trips to the United States will no longer have to provide proof of a negative molecular test, such as a PCR test.

The federal government announced that it is lifting the molecular test requirement for travellers who have received a complete COVID-19 vaccine series when returning to Canada after less than 72 hours.

However, the molecular test requirement will still be required for trips abroad lasting more than 72 hours.

Why do anti-vaxxers care about this? They won't be allowed into the U.S. whether there's testing or not.

I saw a report from the main border crossing in Alberta.. it took 4 days for the surge of 'snowbirds' to pass the border there. Pandemonium down to a trickle after 3 days....back to normal.

Be the same thing here...rush to pick up long lost parcels at the UPS store for a few days then back to normal.

You seem awfully enthused about the border opening when it only applies to those who are fully vaccinated.

Antivaxxers are a notoriously suspicious bunch. Your enthusiasm about the border reopening might cause them to call into question your personal vaccination status. LOL.
