I am lost with many replies by now, reflecting back and forth what is controlled deer and what is not...........then gun vs bow hunter?
I think everyone knows what and why is controlled deer week called controlled .

Ppl ask actually(if we watch carefully)-why bow can not be used at the time gun can?
    Period.

    Less range,less chance,more skill etc.Makes sense.

My only take is this-if there are bow hunters ONLY, and they would apply to hunt controlled ,if that would be allowed-in many areas hunters who hunt with gun ONLY, may be "pushed out "from hunting opportunity ,due of tag limits/high applicant numbers.

Hovewer ,i know ZERO hunters around here, who hunts ONLY gun.

Yet-i do not know ,but the assumption above COULD have very sound logic.
if MNRF knows the numbers, and my theory is sound-let it be as is.

I understand your points, the system is already working as we can see from the controlled hunts in 87 (14 days) vs 79 (5 days), I stand corrected.

It depends what WMU you are in, there is a type of hunt called controlled hunts which do not allow use of bows but not all areas have controlled hunts. Check the hunting regulations map (link below) for your WMU and then go down to the charts to determine when bows can be used:

NDMNRF have an EBR regarding streamlinig Deer hunting seasons in the province. Maybe, they can get all this crap sorted out, too, while they're at it.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

I believe this issue was mentioned in the EBR.
