Just to be fair and consistent-it is maybe time to close this thread, following the same reasoning ,as for the previous "parent" thread as well.

Sorry guys-nothing against the thread or anyone one's post ,but if there "was" ever a reason to close the parent thread, this one is no different.

The parent thread was closed primarily as a result of Hate speech being promoted under the guise of freefom of speech. As a result Admin can review content and act accordingly.
So far this thread is debating transgender rights......though may be controversial as long as it remains civil will remain open

Sadly people not advocating for transgender rights don't consider the problems they're perpetuating.
As a Male I know how I'd feel if I had to use facilities with a bunch of females.
I can empathize with Transgendered forced to use facilities not congruent with the own identity.
If that offends you that's a you problem not a society problem.

Can you empathize with parents of a minor female child telling their parents there was a man in the shower with them at the gym, public sports facilities?

Yes that does offend me as a parent knowing any man can dress like a female and put my daughter in these situations using female facilities.
I will never advocate for those rights or for any boy/man to compete in the same sport against my daughter. Totally wrong IMO.
Mental illness is the issue and it should be treated by professional care. Giving them rights that is unfair to others rights and privacy is not a solution imo.

I would disagree. It's called gender dysphoria or gender identity disorder. There are others forms of dissociative identity disorders like this, such as schizophrenia, or body integrity identity disorder, where the subject feels disconnected from certain body parts and will often try to mutilate or amputate that body part.

What do we do in these cases? We don't humour and patronize the schizophrenic by agreeing that "yes, George, the toaster IS talking to you!"
We don't allow victims of BIID to mutilate and harm themselves.

"Transphobia" is another silly buzzword and a dishonest way to frame the discussion.

Science, biology, and common sense all reinforce my points. There have been countless examples of young people 'transitioning' only to regret it later. The suicide rate among the trans community is extremely high, even after "fully" transitioning. And it's not because people are "transphobic". It's because you can't actually change your sex, no matter how much you hack away at your body and take a daily boatload of hormones.

That parents give their young children hormone blockers and cause irreparable harm to them is beyond criminal.

Since we're on the subject of completely abandoning objective standards, what's the difference with someone claiming they are the opposite sex (they don't actually have to do any work to change their appearance, as that is ironically viewed as "transphobic" by your own ideological comrades...what does a "woman" look like, anyway? How dare you box us in, they say) and someone claiming they are innocent of a crime they just committed, or someone claiming they are wearing a mask when they aren't, or that they identify as vaccinated? It's the exact same thing according to bill C-16, where the individuals objective whim is the only determining factor. How can they be denied entry into a building that requires proof of vaccination if they aren't denied entry into the ladies room?

I can understand if you are generally a more sympathetic or agreeable person, which if you are liberal you likely are. Nothing wrong with that. But I'm not sure you see the full impact of these wacky laws, policies and thoughts which are wreaking havoc on our culture.

Maybe they should be looking at non-communal bathrooms... One bathroom with its own door and lock. Eliminating communal bathrooms should solve that problem.... Never did like the idea of peeing in a troth anyway (Maple leaf gardens)...
That solves the bathroom issue now onto the sports issue....
With everyone wanting equal right, lets get rid of male and female events altogether. Instead, make events based on age, weight and maybe one or two more criteria but lets eliminate the gender portion and its all good.

Why stop open discussion in the Off topic section of forum? Controversy hits most threads on forum, religion has not even been mentioned. Why shutdown a thread just because one party cant agree on the subject?...

The point is-even the parent thread should not be closed..........it also did not violate any elements of the clause #2

Joe brought up a completely valid point and instead of any actual arguments from the more left leaning types to define/defend their position, they just immediately launch into character assault. This is a typical leftist debate tactic so par for the course I suppose, but the onus should be on them to articulate a coherent counter argument.

The ball got rolling in that thread when the Joe proclaimed "he gets a kick" out of the transgendered competing in women's sports then doubled down saying gays are "sissies," transgendered are "off shoots" and that he'd be uncomfortable if his daughter wanted to marry a black man.

If you espouse bigoted views don't be too shocked if you get called out.
