Except he's wrong, it the GIS (Guaranteed Income supplement) that was clawed back....but I see the Village Idiot has decided not to go ahead with punishing them for ripping off the taxpayers. $12k to $16k of free money stolen and no repercussions. .."Only in Canada you say ??"

No he is not wrong, again you think your a mind reader. I was not making any reference to yesterday's announcement's as I had not heard them. For a start not all Canadians get GIS, that should have been your first clue, that is why no reference was made to it.

Most all Canadians do get OAS and this is clawed back as its income qualified. Try and keep up and don't read into posts that which is not there.

Let's see... based on their moral and ethical failure, their scandals, their coverups... perhaps they are thinking.... about how to get votes, what lies they told, what to coverup, how to cheat, ... after all it is recorded that many high level sociopaths are always thinking, conniving etc.

We may actually have a PM that fits more than the narcissist definition and unethical liar definition based on his unwillingness to accept responsibility, lack of empathy and respect, seeming attraction to tyrants, dictators and the criminally minded (* See quote and book link) while his supporters are either unthinking or willing accomplices. What a mess! Reading in Proverbs you see the unethical always thinking about what to steal etc. so it isn't just a matter of thinking, it is a matter of priorities, ethics and values clearly.

Thinking about how to spend and grab power got us where we are (OIC and then using secrecy act, SNC and then using PMO power to block investigations, etc) , thinking about how to fix things.... that's what Canada needs!
I mean we can be sure that interest rates and other economic problems will be aggravated due to "JUST INflation"

Well these are just notions at the point in time, if he stopped printing money what would happen? If he stopped raising taxes, what then?

I agree that all the parties should create an environment where people want to work. But policies would have to be changed..

I will give you an example, there are thousands of retiree's out there from the baby boom generation. Most all of then worked their entire lives, showed up to work on time, were interested in their jobs and were happy to work.

Many of them are now bored at home, could or would work part time or even full time BUT THE SYSTEM actually punished them for doing so.
The money they earn would be clawed back from reduced OAS payment's, there would be a cost to go back to work, gas, lunches.
So in the end they would actually be working for nothing, travelling time included.

Why not give seniors an incentive to work, they would get their OAS and on the work earnings be taxed nothing or at a very low rate.

Result happier seniors with a purpose in life, less mental health problems, probably be healthier and less need to ramp up immigration.

Well, I don't think you have to go from spending record amounts of money to spending no money ... think about all the spectrums of options in between.
What we ask is that he stop spending wastefully ... there's literally no accountability at all on COVID payments, lots taking advantage, and the government isn't really
doing much. I have to question the PM giving away millions to an African country to come up with pro-gay educational seminars ... so he can get a seat on the UN Security Counsel??
There's a lot of wasteful spending ... and zero accountability.

We are paying the price ... things will continue to get more expensive, due to money printing, and compounded by COVID supply chain issues ... and who gets hurt the most?
Not the rich guys, they don't care if a coffee costs $2 or $10 ... they can afford it ... it's the poor that get hurt the most.

We have record inflation, highest in over 30 years.
Record job vacancies ... the work is there.
Record government spending (Turdeau has spent more than ALL past PM's combined, including his stepdad).

There's something seriously wrong with that picture ... it makes no sense to have record spending in a climate where there are record job openings.
