You gotta stop thinking that people are afraid of their own shadows, they simply aren’t.
Yea right. A simple temperature test is all that's needed to know if your body is fighting an infection. PCR tests are known to produce false positives, rapid testing is even worse and no doubt these home test kits are worse than that. Whether those fools believe it or not, those tests are by no means free, our taxes are paying for them.

That's one way to get rid of Uncle Eddy! But seriously what about false positives?

I rolled my eyes at the people who stood in line for hours to get a rapid test kit. Unless you are in a high contact situation (e.g. a school) or visiting long term care or retirement homes there doesn't seem to be much to gain from a public health standpoint by individuals doing an occasional rapid test. There are only five in each kit and if you're infected and asymptomatic you don't have enough kits to test regularly and if you are showing symptoms you're probably going to go for a PCR test whether you've taken the rapid test or not.

What about false negatives ...thinking you're safe, go in and infect your whole family...

Going to have to learn to live with this virus and stop the vaccine spiral

You mean like letting the Virus runs its course, just take care of the 4% that have adverse affects. ?

Much like Omicron is probably going to do anyway

Just curious if anyone knows as it's been a couple of years what the death rate in Ontario currently is?

    Accumulated Death total: 10,107

    68.6 per 100,000
    1.6% of cases

let that sink in...1.6% of cases and only 5% of the population, testing positive, end up in a Hospital. .

So what would that be expressed over the population. I heard it was .00078% chance of death over all of Canada a couple of weeks ago and that number should only decrease with a milder variant.

I might add the figure you used is "Died with Covid" from PHO.

The chance of dying of Covid as a stat is hard to nail down; too many variables...85+ with a comorbidity issue is a lot higher than 12 yr Johnny in perfect health.

But after two years there have only been 10K death or .08% of the population.

As far as a death 'from' covid...almost all deaths have been in patients with a pre-existing health condition exacerbated by having Covid...
