I am fully aware from the stories that the OPP were left out of the loop and I agree with you it was probably because of the close relationship between the victim and OPP .

I am at a loss for why we had to see what was probably a dynamic entry into the premises. If we assume again that it was all firearms related
its not like a bag of cocaine where it can be flushed down the loo. Why the big rush, its not as if any illegal firearms could easily be disposed of once they were at the door.
Any entry to a residence or building where it’s known firearms are present, a quick entry will be initiated. What is not known, is the information leading to the investigation, to elicit that type of response by police….

Well I would probably beg to differ on this one, a dynamic entry for firearms would be the norm for a gang bangers place in in downtown Toronto or a place where known criminals were in. But this to me should be a case involving a lesser degree of entry. The guy is a 70 year old gunsmith, does business with the local OPP detachment and is well known in the community. From all accounts he did not have a criminal record, which will probably hold out to be true or he would not be in the gun business.

Unless as you say the police had some information indicating some possible threat or danger to themselves. Its a pretty sad story and hopefully the family and public get some answers.

    No we do not.

But I think considering the guy got shot its probably more likely, confusion at the entry, maybe a grab for a gun to defend himself not knowing who was entering the place. Its probably more likely, I don't see a knock, knock on the door and an hello Rogers, we have a search warrant can we pop in.

Good responses from some respected retired LEOs. But what do you feel it is, murder or incompetence?

I certainly don’t have enough reliable information to form any kind of opinion.
I do have questions that will likely be answered in due time ..

From witness info,Mrs.Katanko was unloading groceries in her driveway when police arrested her. No doubt, she or they weren't the least bit quiet about it. If she was screaming, there's a strong possibility Roger heard her from the garage. If my wife was screaming in the driveway,I sure know what I'd be doing.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

Exactly. Didn’t look like any windows in the shop but maybe he seen it on security cameras
Still don’t understand why search warrant can’t be released.

But then we don’t know about NS and why Mounties shot up that firehall
