Vaccine Mandate for Truckers Dropped
The Feds suck back on another ill-conceived vaccine mandate...
The federal government is backing down from its vaccine mandate for Canadian truckers three days before it was set to take effect.
Ottawa announced in mid-November that truck drivers crossing into Canada would need to be fully vaccinated by this Saturday.
But on Wednesday evening Canada Border Services Agency spokesperson Rebecca Purdy told The Canadian Press that Canadian big-riggers will not have to quarantine if they are unvaccinated or have received only one dose.

Because truckers delivering essential goods, isolating in a cab are a much bigger risk to the public then the nurses that government says can work around sick people in hospitals while being infected with covid. Yup, hard to justify that common-sense approach.

We The People are putting common sense pressure on these numb nuts.
Still, only a half measure.
"The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) said that unvaccinated, or partially vaccinated Canadian truck drivers arriving at the U.S.-Canada border will remain exempt from pre-arrival, arrival and post-arrival testing and quarantine requirements."
"However, truckers from the United States will still need to be vaccinated or they will be turned back at the border from Jan. 15, a CBSA spokesperson said."

I increasingly heading into the absurd....the double vaccinated are the largest cohort for spreading the virus (Cases/hospitalizations/ICU) ...yet, being double vaccinated remains the baseline for restrictions.
The truckers are safer in their cabs and stay away from the 'Verified' Haha...

US truckers will now have to stop and throw apples, oranges cauliflower and broccoli across the international border. Another brilliant idea from Trudumb and his band of idiots.

I work in the trucking industry and this announcement does help some
driver shortage is by far the largest issue right now in the industry and cutting it by a stupid mandate would only increase the problem. Now if only sleepy Joe would wake up and join the real world we could get through this
if the mandate did go through we had a 4 tier price increase set up maxing out over 8X current per mile rates
