Ps we both had other symptoms about 5 or 6 days in wife lost her taste and smell day 6 and I started to have a scratch throat day 5 or 6 just for the night . Wife's taste and smell are back we also look a bottle of zink lozenges.

It was like the flu and cold symptoms all in one I never had a cough nor messed with our breathing . Should have some blood work done next week.

If we can just for a moment look at the whole idea of the last couple of years. My outlook will vary from yours, but this is generally how it played out.

1. An illness breaks out in China with little concern at first indicated by both China and the WHO.

2. It spreads rapidly and is fatal. It becomes declared a pandemic after a delay and countries world wide take immediate action to prevent exposure. Lack of early concise information allows for the spawning ground of conspiracy theories and misinformation.

3. Most if not all government precautions fail and we have a global pandemic

4. Very early on, and with very little science a divide occurs in the population on how to go about this pandemic. On the one hand you have group 1 calling for government action to help its population , and then you have group 2 calling government action an over reach of its powers. (Lockdowns)

5. The divide is very much exacerbated due to the US political election and it’s polarized candidates. This is where science and politics kind of melded and some people drew a line in the sand, so to speak, on their beliefs. This divide allows for the festering of conspiracy theories and misinformation. (On a side note and possibly unrelated but at this juncture Rumble sees a huge gain in popularity)

6. All the while numbers of infected across the globe are bouncing up and down. High infection rates and high rates of fatalities across the globe.

7. The vaccines introduction gives many people a sigh of relief. The numbers look good and most of Canada’s population is for it. Hospitals are running near capacity, this should provide relief.

8. The science is scrutinized by some and deemed ineffective due to the nature of the newness of technology in regards to the mRNA

9. The vast majority in Canada get jabbed. On going science changes which in turn changes government stance on certain vaccines (mixing, a-z, j&j side effects).

10. At first with earlier variants, the vaccine is effective at preventing serious illness and transmission to some degree. There are side effects to the vaccine, but so far the good out weighs the bad.

11. Hospitalizations decline. Lockdowns diminish. The virus becomes manageable. The use of PPE and a cautious approach to lifestyle curbs the spread. Numbers of vaccinated individuals in Canada reaches the upper 80%. Hospitalizations are low and manageable and mainly among the unvaccinated. Transmission is possible in vaccinated individuals.

12. The unvaccinated are prevented from taking part in certain social and public settings to prevent them from becoming ill and burdening the healthcare system.

13. A new variant sweeps the globe. It is highly transmissible and infects everyone equally. Most public settings close again. The vaccine is offered for a third and in some cases fourth booster. Hospitalization rates increase rapidly. Back to square one.

14. While vaccines are shown to lower the severity of the illness, some still refuse. Those individuals are being scapegoated for the cause of the spread, where scientifically it shows transmissibility occurs in both vaccinated and unvaccinated.

15. Lack of leadership from all areas of government due to either ineptitude or fear promotes the divide in society. The ongoing war of misinformation which is not highlighted by the government allows the divide to deepen. Suspicion breeds anger which breeds social action or disobedience (whichever way you see it)

16. Science is showing that the new variant, while fatal to some, is generally milder in nature to its predecessors. At the same time, after two years, cases of previously infected individuals are reporting reoccurring symptoms (long haulers).

17. Where does it all lead?

While my synopsis won’t jive entirely with yours, these are, for me, the major points of the last couple of years.

I’m not affected by vaccine mandates, I’m not bothered by wearing a mask for the purpose of protecting my fellow Canadians. While I feel for the business’ that had to, or still are shut down, it doesn’t affect me directly (we don’t eat out often, we don’t go out to movies, we aren’t into fairs or big parties). I don’t watch or listen to various news outlets regularly, so I’m not buying into the hysteria on either side of the coin.

I’m not an expert in science and I’m not one to believe in sinister motives. I think we all need to continue carrying on within the parameters until this blows over. Patience and a steady diet of time consuming chores is prescribed. Otherwise, what’s the real alternative?

Like always it's always been about the numbers. Days don't matter it's about the amount of active cases . .

What's another month of the fully vaccinated being denied in a restaurant lol.

Can you be more clear on your comment on mandates and the lack of choice we have?

It will be before the courts soon and we will see the outcome. But still, if you feel so strongly against the vaccine, the choice is still yours to make. Living within the parameters of that choice might be difficult, but no one is putting a gun to your head. With the amount of available employment out there it shouldn’t be a problem.

What choice ? Loose your job ? Go to the movies eat in a restaurant .

Or take an experimental vaccine for a virus that can effect anyone but primarily the order people.

What about the majority or most under 30 ? Have low risks of and take up little of the icu . A larger amount in this population are being force to take this.

What about the new working force coming out of school or going into college and university that have little and rare risk of being hospitalized?
