NATO and the US have been slowly encroaching closer and closer to Russian territory for decades.... the Russians have been saying enough is enough and now we are knocking on their doorstep looking to cozy up to Ukraine..... What would the USA do if Southern Ontario all of a sudden got friendly with Iran, North Korea, China, etc... your damn right theyd be amassing troops in Ohio and Michigan.... give your heads a shake... Obama tried this 6 years ago.. he was playing checkers and Putin chess and he ended up with Crimea...This is all avoidable but the US thrives off conflict and are pushing the Russians, how is that not crystal clear??
Well said and agree. Russia is pushing back on corruption and aggression.

    That statement is a joke.

Russia is probably the most corrupted nation on earth, run by a thief of a President and surrounded by oligarch's who stole everything. There is not a single western country that did not get burnt by doing business with them and they are cyber hackers.

Back to the drawing board Boris.

    X2-to die for Ukraine?
Canadians should die for Canada only.

There are many well rounded individuals here.

Unfortunatelly, due of the fact that many are born here ,they are deprived from news from other sources,on mother tongues of other nations.
Therefore- by default ,many are to see the world the way world is presented to us........and we know all the issues with that.

Well, I suppose it depends all on how you look at it. Don't get me wrong, I tend to agree however there's more at play than just Ukraine.

What do you suppose happens after Ukraine is taken? Poland? Or, do they come for Northern Canada, it's being eyed closely already.

When does it become our problem? Consider if nobody went to aid any of the countries being invaded in either of the world wars, we would be looking at a whole different map.

How is it one careless cigarette can cause a forest fire, but it takes a whole box of matches to light a campfire?

So Oaknut are you saying that countries that want to join NATO should be told NO?

Likely Belaruse or the Baltics or one of those states Trudeau can't find, the Arctic Russia has been working on for decades...

Not at all, I didn't believe I had put forward any such thought.

    Honestly-big Politics is big politics.

No Canadian should die for politics.
Support other friendly yet threatened countries : give them-sell them-loan them-gift them arms, help economically ,train their forces(in safe area-or leave it to well paid volunteers to do so in the war zone-but make it clear :You get hurt,it is on You,after all, that is why You get the big bucks) help Politically (U. N.or else)but to send in Canadian troops?

What would be a difference between Russia sending in troops into Eastern Ukraine-and NATO sending in troops into Eastern Ukraine?
Russians may have historical and ethnical reasons-other then the political and strategical-but what NATO would have ,other then Political and Strategical reasons.

Kind of oxymoronic(other then big time politics)
