UK drops COVID-19 restrictions
Not too much longer here...then we can get back to what's left of our society, batter and bruised as it may be.
England ends vaccine passports, public mask mandate
Scientists believe the Omicron wave has peaked in the country, he said, and the nation will work on charting a course in how to live with the virus in long term.
"
We must learn to live with Covid in the same way we live with flu,” he said.
Restrictions being lifted Thursday include mandatory Covid passports for the entrance to nightclubs and large events, although venues can continue to use the passport if they choose.
Face masks will no longer be mandated in public spaces and schools, although they remain recommended.
Travel restrictions are also going to be eased in the coming days.

The fact that THIS vaccine cannot prevent infections, has made of the idea of herd immunity null and void. Continuing to try and derail the spreading of the virus with restrictions has made the 'Vaccine Passort' a moot point.
Once this Omicron has peaked, many other countries will follow suit and put an end to this nightmare. Good news for the economy, business owners and kids trying to get an education.

Sad when the UK (where police knock down your door for sending an ‘offensive’ tweet) beat us to the punch on this. Hopefully more countries follow suit very soon.

The headline is not entirely accurate. These lifting of requirements do not apply to the entire UK but only to England. Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland each have different rules. They are easing too but not to the same degree as England.

The most appealing part of the change is
In addition, children and
fully vaccinated adults no longer need to take a pre-departure test before travelling to the UK and can now take an LFT* instead of a PCR on arrival.
Time to book my flight to the UK. The weather is quite lovely in the spring.

The balls rolling..now Ireland has followed suit...
Ireland has ended what has been one of the longest and strictest set of coronavirus restrictions in Europe, with the end of lockdown declared “a good day” by the country’s prime minister.
From Saturday the 8pm curfew on pubs and restaurants will no longer apply. Limits on the numbers of people who can gather together in households, at sporting events, weddings and funerals will also disappear, he confirmed.
Also going is the requirement for vaccine certificates although they will be maintained for international travel.
A return to workplaces will be phased in, to give employers time to prepare, and mask-wearing on public transport will continue to apply for the next month.
