Why is everyone so amped up?

I know I’ll get roasted on this one, but what the hey.

I feel as if there has been an ever growing sinister outlook on life lately, incredibly noticeable on here. Maybe I’m alone in this observation. It seems like there has been a great amount of threads specifically dealing with the doom and gloom of the world, politics, domestic issues, covid, etc.

What gives?

I’ve read plenty on here about the msm and how we need to unplug and turn off the news. OK, no problem. Why is it that those giving that advice don’t follow it?Instead they report on various negative topics from the “not so mainstream” media.

I’m sure we can all recognize that the pandemic era is coming to an end. This latest variant is less potent, the world is getting back to some kind of normal, we are surely to follow suit. We should all be in a lighter mood and focus more on our outdoor interests. But there still seems to be a battle brewing. Seems to me some people are just looking for a fight, maybe even hoping for one. Lots of provocation, from media linked posts, than fact.

If you turn off the media, you stop buying into the divide that both sides seem to be pushing.

Let thoughtfulness, logic and empathy be your guide.

Well great post and I feel the same way and having been on here the same number of years as you have noted the decline in manners.

I feel that many of these social media platforms are simply hijacked by those with a political agenda and some very regular posters on here are only here to post inflammatory posts to get on others goats. What they get in response are the same type of posts.
There is a strong believe that this forum is "owned" by a certain political party supporter and nobody else should come onto THEIR forum and rock the boat. Well that might have been OK 10 years ago but the management has changed and so has the membership. When this penny drops they might get the message. Strangely enough the same "element" follows this course politically and wonder why they cannot get back into power. Their management is also trying to steer the boat in the correct fashion considering the changed Canada but atlas he is also subject to the same attack's as some members on here.

We now have new members coming on here and not even bothering to pretend they hut or fish, its straight onto the political attack in off topic or politics. The moderators are fully aware of this and for the most part tolerant of it happening.

Unfortunately most people are like a dog with a bone. Virtually impossible to say "at this point you do you and I'll do me". The desire to be "right " overwhelms the need to be civil.
In any case I can assure the members that Admin is not tolerant of member abuse or non compliance to rules.
Debate is always encourage but the rule of debate need to be followedf.
In all cases if a members has a concern about a post report it and it will be reviewed and remedial action if warranted will be done.
Guess all we can ask is understand that although you're entiltiled to your opinion, one who has an opposing view is not your enemy and shouldn't be treated as one.

People are amped up I believe because they feel too many agendas are being pushed on them that they do not feel are right and can't agree with. Any who disagree with these changes being forced on them are being labelled as radicals for questioning when science is all about openess and questions. The earth is round, not flat. The earth goes around the sun, not the sun around the earth. Fly too close to the sun and the wax melts and your feathers fall off. Okay, 2 outta 3 aint bad.. RIP Meatloaf.
A happy population does not get amped up and protest so that tells you stuff is going to change.
The last 20 years of political correctness and affirmative actions might have reached their peak and people might start looking for change in a different direction.

I wonder though if some people are capable of understanding that not everything the government does will make everyone happy.

It also makes me curious how many people are fed up? Usually the squeaky wheel gets the grease but how many people does that represent in our population.

Maybe not relevant due to the demographic, but I interact with quite a large group day to day and I've yet to meet somebody who doesn't oppose much of the current government's (and some previous) actions. Not so much with the covid response, but the social agenda and this has been something I've observed for years.

I feel like there is a large population that has never paid attention to politics until its been jammed down their throats at every possible second, and from every possible source, including employers and coworkers.

Let's talk for a minute about the proverbial political "pendulum" that forever has swung from the "right" to the "left"over a long period of time. For the last 30 years,that pendulum has swung to the left and except for the odd "jerk",it's been stuck there. Nobody has really noticed because life hasn't been too bad for those on the receiving end of lots of free stuff incluging bucket loads of money. Then,along comes Covid. Gradually,the strong silent majority clued to the fact that only those who were working and paying taxes where the only ones footing the bills for all the freebies and started to pay attention. Mandates that are costing people their livelihoods,restrictions on freedom,petty and punitive sanctions against those who intend to exercise their freedom,political subterfuge and subversive policies and actions by a completely disconnected government have caused people to wise up to the ultra leftist liberalist government and it's rapidly got their attention. That political "pendulum " has started to swing and it's swinging fast and far to the right. Hang on to your hats. This will be one hell of a ride.

Everyone is amped up because 2 weeks turned into like 20 weeks of lock downs and closures.

Just take 2 dose oh yeah we didn't tell you that it⁴ was happening in other places that it was waning. There was always another excuse as to why .

Yeah we won't allow you to speak of the side effects we can't have the people know about the risks.

Or how about misrepresented numbers , all they give is numbers but what do they really mean ? All misleading information.

Oh kids are at little risk but don't let that stop you getting them vaccinated. Taking away parental rights for the adolescent population again low risk . Oh you have to be vaccinated to go to the movievies and enjoy your life. You want to play hockey Oh you must take an experimental jab even know the science says your at very low risk.

The push for vax pass and mandates the never ending blame of the unvaccinated. So much so we are now extremists ,anti Vax small minority fringe groups .

Mandates based on assumptions not facts facts that are well hidden from public eyes.


Oh now it's 3 dose and you need to be escorted through big box stores in Quebec if your a dirty unvaccinated person. Even know the vaccinated are spreading the just the same.


Everything to push for the vaccine nothing to better deal with it. Just go home and do nothing if you get sick enough maybe we will treat you if you need an icu.

So much more this is only a few starting points lol.


The cdc admitted long ago last year a third of the vaccinated had the same viral load. So the entire vax pass has been bogus since delta began. Not stopping the spread so what does it matter who is vaxxed or not.
