Default We got one this morning.

It has been a slow 3 weeks for me, probably 15 sets or so since I had one come in to the call. I have seen a couple but no chance for a shot but today the 3rd stand payed off for us.
I took my neighbours boy out with me today hoping it would change my luck and it did. We hit 2 farms before this one and did not see anything. We went to the 3rd farm (our first time here) and looked for a good setup location. Once setup let the caller start blasting, after about 7 minutes or so, I seen the coyote coming out of the bush and heading into the open field. It started veering off to the far side before I changed up and lowered the sound at which point it start angling toward us.

I was just about to shoot it when I remembered that I had the boy with me and its best he take the shot. So I asked him if he was ready, he said yes, he took the shot and he hit it. It dropped and started to get back up so I let a round go out. So I guess you can say it was a team effort ...
In the scope it looked like a great coyote but once we got close, it had the start of mange so we had to chuck it...

The first spot is a tricky one. It is one I only go to on weekends when the wind is right and do it at first light because it is off a busy road. So road traffic and farm work begins early there, so that place is a quick 15 minutes in and out.
The second stand is much more secluded and we stayed for 30 minutes with no takers to be seen.
Depending on the stand location (how busy or out of the way the place is determines my length of stay)..... That, and when my wife wants me to be home
