Too many here complain about the EA being in force but also lay blame on the same person when it's withdrawn?
To me that's speaks a lot.

I think the only reason he withdrew was to save face. Didn't appear the senate was going to back him.
I see it as. Saying thank you to someone who robbed you because they decided to try and bring it back as the police are on route.
Umm no. Take em boys

I don't see anyone complaining that he took it down. It was the honest thing to do. The dishonest and dishonorable thing he did was enact it in the first place trying to use it for his own political gain that just came back to bite his arse. The entire thing was a total failure. No matter which way you cut it,the man was completely unqualified to even hold the office let alone enact a piece of legislation only designed to be used in a time of declared war. It was ridiculous,a disgtace and he should resign immediately. As much as I don't have a lot of confidence in Chrystia Freeland,as Deputy PM,she has a lot more credibility.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

Exactly, well said sir. I don't know if I would go that far with the last sentence but the rest was definitely spot on.

So I wonder if Jagmeet Singhs' BIL had his bank account frozen, he was 1 of the top donators to the cause with a $13,000 addition to the fund.
Probably not, cronyism has its' perks.

It's my understanding that the senate wasn't going to pass the bill and since he made it a nonconfidence vote he would have to stepdown? So another cowardly act to save his worthless hide and even though the EMA is revoked the whole financial spying stays in place permanently, could someone please explain how that works? On a side note there's a Federal Court Judicial review scheduled review tomorrow morning filed by Front Line Nurses on the grounds that it required parlamentary approval and breached the Canadian Bill of Rights.

I would agree we the this. Unlike the HOC where vote takes based on ideology by 4 parties; senate have too many independent participants liberals don't have a sway on..
It would have been shut down there and pm would get a slap in face

It basically looks like he bailed on the Emergencies Act since it would get held up in Senate and Freeland has already said they wanted to make some of the changes permanent anyway.
