The last time the Russian Bear went after Finland was in the Winter War.

On 30 November 1939, Soviet forces invaded Finland with 21 divisions, totalling 450,000 men, and bombed Helsinki,[96][102] killing about a hundred citizens and destroying more than fifty buildings.

Immediately after the war, Helsinki officially announced 19,576 dead.[204] According to revised estimates in 2005 by Finnish historians, 25,904 people died or went missing and 43,557 were wounded on the Finnish side during the war.

The official Soviet figure (with reference to the command of the Leningrad Military District) was published at a session of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on march 26, 1940: 48,475 dead and 158,863 sick and wounded.[22] More recent Russian estimates vary: in 1990, Mikhail Semiryaga claimed 53,522 dead and N. I. Baryshnikov, 53,500 dead. In 1997, Grigoriy Krivosheyev claimed 126,875 dead and missing, and total casualties of 391,783 with 188,671 wounded.[19] In 1991, Yuri Kilin claimed 63,990 dead and total casualties of 271,528. In 2007, he revised the estimate of dead to 134,000[20] and in 2012, he updated the estimate to 138,533.[214] In 2013, Pavel Petrov stated that the Russian State Military Archive has a database confirming 167,976 killed or missing along with the soldiers' names, dates of birth, and ranks.

Basically the Finn's kicked the crap out of the Russians

Between 1,200 and 3,543 Soviet tanks were destroyed. The official figure was 611 tank casualties, but Yuri Kilin found a note received by the head of the Soviet General Staff, Boris Shaposhnikov, which reports 3,543 tank casualties and 316 tanks destroyed. According to the Finnish historian Ohto Manninen, the 7th Soviet Army lost 1,244 tanks during the breakthrough battles of the Mannerheim Line in mid-winter. In the immediate aftermath of the war, the Finnish estimate of the number of lost Soviet tanks was 1,000–1,200.[25][26][27] The Soviet Air Forces lost around 1,000 aircraft, but less than half of them were combat casualties.[27][28] According Carl Fredrik Geust, based on studies of Soviet air force units, Finnish anti-aircraft units have shot down 119 and Finnish fighter pilots 131 Soviet aircraft, though all Soviet aircraft losses have been more than 900.

Simo Häyhä the Finnish sniper managed to knock of 500 Russians just by himself. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Simo_H%C3%A4yh%C3%A4

Don't mess with those Vikings Mr. Putin.

The Finns used even the Brewster Buffalo to great success against the Russians and today some of the images show the Ukrainians doing some damage and the "Ghost of Kiev" is apparently an ace with 6 Russian fighters shot down. Then there are images of BMP's that ran over this guy that in other pictures he looked to be about 70 and was still alive as they were cutting the car away to get him out.

Russians aren't discriminating too much on targets, Ukrainians are handing out rifles for defence of the city, tanks advancing from Belarus, Crimea and Russia itself though.

Their leader puts on camo and armour and stays to face tanks and jets... ours hides from bouncy castles and truck horns.

With Russia and China being so friendly lately we might want to consider expanding our manufacturing industry and try to focus on producing our own goods. Sure it will cost more, but with inflation going the way it is, stuffs going to cost more anyways. I’d rather be more self sufficient than to rely on China.

Well let me tell you something - this thing would not have happened if Trump was president - like him or not you got to admit this - leaders of other countries like Russia and China didn't know him and were afraid of him - they know sleepy Joe and are taking advance of him - Biden is a joke and they know it - he reminds me of a dead body walking around -

Then we have this idiot Kerry going around worrying about the effects this war will have on the climate -

The people deserve hard times because they put stupid people into office - I feel sorry for the people who didn't vote for them but that's how things are - the innocent suffer because of the faults of the others -

That’s a hard one to believe. Maybe, at best conflict would have been avoided, but at a cost of Trump negotiating on Ukraine’s behalf to cede some land. That’s a big maybe. I don’t think anyone was afraid of Trump, he came off as clumsy, arrogant and uneducated. His only strong suit was that he was a loose cannon and let his personal feelings persuade his presidential decision making skills. He had advisors, but chose to go his own path. He did manage to further divide the US population. Now the question is can you guys rally together if the occasion of war arises?

We are in a precarious situation with the way the pandemic has impacted our lives financially and socially. At this very moment I don’t think the world has an appetite for global conflict. That’s not to say that it won’t eventually, but no lines in the sand have been drawn or crossed yet. Ukraine is, to the world, an acceptable sacrifice to keep world peace.

Those who CAN,and are ALLOWED-will use all the opportunity (and excuse)to make more money on us, claiming impact of the war.

This is where a good Government would-could -if wanted to, step in ,and protect the Nation.
    Us.

    Wait-i am dreaming!

Dont You think that You contradict Yourself in the very same post?
Blaming Trump-that he would keep the world peace by ceding land from Ukraine -then stating, Ukraine is to the world an acceptable sacrifice today-to keep the world peace?

What would-will be the difference for Ukraine?

While i agree with you-that his personality did some harm to his Presidency, and the way the world saw him as a leader-yet no opportunity let go to waste ,to bash Trump ,eh?
