Bowhunting Pheasants?
With the closing of cottontail (and pretty much everything I can bowhunt) I'm getting the itch for more bowhunting opportunities and I noticed the New Breed Farm not far from me.
My main question is if it's practical at all to hunt pheasants from a blind with a decoy? I'm definitely not wing shooting any and a shot from the ground on a stalk doesn't seem too realistic with the tall grass.

Well don't think decoying for pheasants is possible, their behaviour is nothing like turkey. Do keep in mind even though the birds are released from a game farm off that property birds came only be hunted during the regular pheasant season.

Ah so game farms are closed? I was told by people that game farms are open year round because it'd high fence. The more you know I guess.

They can stay open after the season,new breed is usually open till April, and theyre not fenced in, you should try spot n stalk with your recurve, use a snaro tip and flu flu fletching, its a lot fun

Game farms play by different rules. On the designated property seasons and limits don't apply basically what you pay for and while supplies last. Off the property regular season and limits apply.

Yeah I definitely wont be using the outfitter's dogs if I do go for it. Even if just using judo points there's a chance of the shaft breaking and impaling the dog with carbon shards.

Back in the day (mid 80's to mid 90's), I used to bowhunt for deer in a property where there were pheasants walking around from time to time. The neighbouring farmer was a hunter who released them occasionally and they spilled over to the side where I had permission to hunt. 
I nailed five or six of them over the years, always on the ground, never even attempting to pull back on the compound if they took off flying. Funny I never got a deer with that bow in 17 years of trying!!!
