Have you been involved in a nuisance migratory bird permit? If not then please just stop.

You have to be on the permit, named on the permit, you cannot just go there and shoot the birds that they complain about, you have to be named on the actual permit and keep a copy with you while you are out there harassing them.

I know that some people have said to just drive by and shoot over their heads to scare them, that is actually considered hunting by the definition, so be careful there.

Ok, how recently have you been involved with this?

Here is the email back from them when I asked about being added.

    Good morning Rodney,

The “farmer” would have to add you as a nominee on his permit for you to be able to perform any activities he has on his permit. The “farmer” can contact us with his permit number stating that he would like to add a nominee and give you name and phone number.

If you have any other questions please don’t hesitate to contact us back. Thank you.

This was done in 2016, I have not been involved since, only because we had a baby and I no longer have time.

This farm owns 1600 acres, they used to get permits for deer as well during the summer months and could assign any agent they wanted, they just had to call and inform the above group of who they wanted and that person had to meet the requirements.

Depending on the type of loses the methods can change, from oiling eggs so they do not hatch, so shooting, so disrupting, etc.

You stated that you did this before I was even born, so in 40 years things probably have changed a little bit, I would not doubt that in the last 6 they have also changed.

Called Canadian wildife service in North York dozens of times over the last 3 days and, left a few voicemails, and a few emails. Zero response and nobody has even answered the phone...

Patience is a virtue. Are you using the contact info on the permit? Sometimes these things just takes time
That reminds me better submit my application to release for the fall

Pretty much the norm for federal office workers. It's funny because you can literally tell they're hanging up because it's never the same amount of rings lmao.

Unfortunately didn't get a chance to get a copy of the permit yet. He lives about 160km from me and safe to say he's not super familiar with scanning, email attachments etc.
