be on the look out for rabbit nests
Trying to catch up on some yard work today. Trimming the grass around the trees and ran into a nest. One kit dislodged from the nest hobbled away to some high gras across the road. Could see at least 1 still hunkered under the down. What suprised me more was neither dog found the nest on their morning run of the yard.

Ya beat me to it, yesterday the lawn care guy made the best acrobatic jump, both legs in the air, let out a holler and then laughed. He was weed wacking along the side of the deck and 6-7 little tiny bunnies came flying out. All about the size you could put 3 in a small timmies cup. Know I know why the big bunny has been hanging around, it's mom.

I get them building nests in my lawn. For that reason, I keep the blade height high….

I've got a bunch of little ones right now exploring the outside world from under my coop.

I enjoy this unit of measurement, the bun-buns fit per small Timmies' cup.
We have bunnies, racoons, mice, and squirrels in our backyard, and I believe there are some robins moving in...lots going on. Our garage is a tear-down situation and that's part of the problem.

I have plenty of them every year, this year one tried to dig a burrow right in the middle of the back lawn in a tuft of longer grass. I kept having to chase it away before the dog went out. Now to keep them away from the veggie garden....

I don't mind if they hit the garden just think of fattening them up for come winter apple/live trap and its rabbit for dinner.

Has too much time on their hands
Rabbits are easier to spot, not so for frogs and snakes.... all tend to make messes, I didn't even know there were ring neck snakes around the cottage till it showed up in pieces and let's not say what the big frog looked like yesterday when I cut the grass

Just came across these guys in the raspberry patch. Now to keep the kids away and the neighbours outdoor cat out of my yard.
