Well off on Vacation
Well after a disastrous week at work, being asked to update a system with one day notice for a job that requires several days testing before moving to Prod it failed as I predicted (I have never failed before). I told my boss I was considering resigning at the end of Sept. He wouldn't accept my resignation and told me to calm down (He's currently away as well) and said he will be speaking to that dept when he gets back and I get back from the UK (Some of you might not be aware but I flip easily when projects don't go as planned). So I have know idea what is going to happen when I get back.
But tomorrow afternoon I am off to the UK and should arrive sometime Monday, assuming everything goes right (I'm not holding my breath). I will be in London until Aug 12 at which time we head to Dover to get on the cruise ship.
then
Aug 15 - Greenock-Glasgow, Clydeport, Scotland
Aug 16 - Belfast, Northern Ireland
Aug 17 - Liverpool, England
Aug 18 - Dublin, Ireland, Dun Laoghaire Harbour
Aug 19 - Cobh-Cork, Ireland
Aug 20 - Arriving in Dover, England
Fly out back to Ottawa Aug 21.
Cheers All and have a nice Summer

Hope you have a stellar trip. I have a family member working in a small production shop that makes items that gets tested before going into full scale production, his sentiments echo yours to the "T", lazy workers, don't give a poop if things don't come out as per customer requests and design. And they wonder why they are floundering. Shop foreman has his son "working" there, if you could call a couple hours a day whenever he decides to show up, the company owner has no cahoonas to launch some of these lazy buggers.

I've never needed a break from work before, never failed on a project, but when people don't understand that you have to plan and test things and then give you the information and for testing and going live on the same day, they didn't even include our dept and my boss in the decisions for availability. My Boss (Long time friend) just sent me a text to calm down and enjoy my vacation and not think about work. (Guess he doesn't know yet I packed my Laptop). Not use to going away for 2 weeks. I usually just go away for long weekends or occasionally to NB, NS, but rarely very far.
I'm made to do work not travel.
Going to try and have a good trip hopefully the buffet has lot's of shrimp and maybe muscles or clams.
If I don't enjoy the trip the wife will probably divorce me. So I will try. But not doing one of these again.
