We do not buy from Russia anything.
We sell our oil overseas(apparently due of not fitting for use in vehicles)THEN we buy foreign oil(fitting)
There should be ZERO impact on Canada.
The gas-we have it huge-so why the prices go up?
Electricity- same,we sell to USA.
Where is the Government to stop this nonsense?
Can anyone explain?
Not an expert but I believe that natural gas, gasoline and most energy commodities are sold on the futures market daily.

Likely-but where is the Government in this.
Not acting to protect us is akin to being head of the family owning a large farm, and letting everyone and their brother come to the farm and take whatever they want, at conditions and price they see fit.

Well I guess its like any commodity, goes up and down on the World markets, the trading is outside the authority of Governments its the free market, so some folks are making big money on speculation. IMHO it would make no difference which party was in power.

The government did step in gas is roughly 10 cents cheaper with the cuts they did. They end at the end of the year.

I must disagree-(MAYBE)any Government would act the same.
But now-Liberals are in power, this is on them. They can not point fingers this time...........
There are tons of examples, from Europe mostly, where Governements do ACT to protect their Citizens.
plus
It is NOT unheard of in the world ,to have Contracts re negotiated............

My crop this year appears to be on the smaller side about half the size, I will probably pick this weekend and see how I did, garlic and squash did pretty good.

Our brothers in Alberta are pretty happy with their 13 billion dollar surplus, so keeping them happy is important to me. I will be paying Ultramar, Parkland Corporation out of Red Deer Alberta my increase price and I will have to be content with that I suppose.

Did you ask for a better price? I negotiate every year with them when its time to lock in my annual rate and they always shave a bit off.
