Elk Tag Bancroft Area - Help?
Hey all!
i was successful in the elk draw WMU 57 Area 2 which is east of Bancroft.
i know previously people have indicated the elk are on farmers land and typically they ask for some financial compensation.
If anyone knows a farmer or can help me find a property I’ll happily compensate some for that lead/assistance.
I am in med school so my schedules crazy busy hence why I am hoping for help as it’s not realistic for me to find time to do a thorough e scout and trip to the area to find permission before the season.
private message me if you’d like to discusss more.

Congrats on your tag.
I think MNRF has a landowner list. You could start there.
Good luck with the hunt and med school.

Congrats on drawing a tag , it’s certainly worth paying a trespass fee considering how much it would cost to do an elk hunt anywhere else in the country.
There is an Ontario elk hunting group on Facebook as well. It doesn’t get much traffic but might be a little help.
I’ll send you a pm with what info I collected when I applied

There was only 4 tags allotted in area 2 (2 bull-2 cow). I sure hope you hit the corner store for Lottery tickets at the same time. It would be nice to graduate med school debt free. Congratulations!
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

Wow....and when you get the trespassing to hunt charge under the FWCA, you can lose your licence, your gear, get a big fine and lose your elk if you are successful.
Brutal advice.

I thought "trespass fee" was his way of saying "landowner fee"

Ahh perhaps I misunderstood the post. If so, my apologies.

FWCA Schedule 17.5 "Trespass to Hunt" was last updated on January 21,2022. Set fine is $200.
