    Cool Controlled hunt

Been a great week, I solo hunt and have seen 22 deer this week, all but 5 where in range, but most had to much brush. I let 3 does walk by at 20yds but wanted to wait to see if I could get a buck. Today was shoot whatever came along.
[COLOR=#000000]Well it was a very cold morning even though the temp wasn't that bad -1. I dressed warmer expecting it to be cold, I didn't dress warm enough. Saw a deer way off at 8am. By 9 I was so cold that it was time to leave or go for a walk, walk it was. Slow walked to the back of bush nothing. There was a guy hunting on the next property. I walked back to where I started. 945, I decided I'd stay till 10 as I was still cold. Looked at watch 1 minute to go and looked up and here comes a deer, it had made it almost to me without me seeing it as I was looking at packing up. Gun was against the tree and deer was 40yds out with nothing between us. I watched him get closer. When he went behind a big tree I went for the gun. He must have heard me as he stopped the minute his front shoulders were past tree at 30yd watching me. No vitals and he was debating on running so took the shot almost facing me. He kicked and took off at 90degs into some heavy sapplings. I watched him until I couldn't see him any more heading to the back of bush. Went to where I thought he was standing, dropped my hat there (I wear an orange toque under the hat just for this reason. Went back to where I was standing and looked, needed to move hat about 20ft no sigh of blood and no tracks in the leaves. Walked back to the truck unloaded the quad and got Sam (lab). Went back to where I was sitting on the trail. Brought my coffee and cigars. Had a cigar and drank my coffee. About 45 minutes since the shot. Went to where my hat was and off went Sam. She tracked it for about 60yds to where it had piled up between 2 logs. Small 7 point. Put the hat on the highest log so I could see it, went and got the quad, was able to drive over all the small saplings right to the deer.

It's not your fault sabmgb, the software for the board is having issues. I can't post photos either. I understand the "webmaster" is working to correct this. Congrats on your hunt!

Even when it worked the pictures were small and of poor quality.
With a couple of extra steps a third party picture storage site gives a better picture upload and quality solution. I use https://www.flickr.com/ , its free and not that difficult to navigate. Take it from a guy that doesn't even have a cell phone.
