I’m going to try to ice camp while targeting jumbo perch. If I get things down pat, I’ll venture a little further away for walleye. Good luck to all!

I cannot wait to get on the ice this year. I'll be heading on the Ottawa River and the South Nation River with my son for perch, pike and walleye end of December once ice is safe. Hoping to get some brookies on the Quebec side too.

Whitefish are my target species this year. Simcoe, Temagami and possibly renting a cottage in Bancroft. My goal is to put a good effort into finding whitefish in my home lake in the Kawarthas.

It's started to freeze on parts of simcoe but then the storm came along and destroyed any progress. Vb was frozen across for 2 days but that is now open water again.

The end of this week looks like more ice making weather just need a calm night or 2 to get things rolling again.

If all goes well there could be ice between the holidays. Fingers crossed.
