What do you mean (your thoughts) when you say insulating a tent. A nylon camping tent? Not sure how one would insulate a traditional camping tent, just doesn't seem possible? Now if you are talking prospectors tent, that might be a possibility as it would be more durable.

Well I suppose if you get a few of the big movers blankets, cut them to size and velcro the edges to attach them together. Now if the tent supports are outside, then you have another problem.

I have seen it done, and it is quite possible.
On a run off the mill Nylon tent,to boot.

Some ingenuity, some fleece from Lens Mills Store, tent material and some sowing skills......the job was actually very professional .

Likely OP is wondering about ideas.

without a heat source, not sure its really worth the effort. Spend money on your sleeping bag instead. You still need to vent a tent or your going to wake up completely frosted inside. With the need for a vent, body heat isn't going to do much to keep the interior warm, which is why I believe insulation won't add much comfort.

Save all the hassle and just pick up an insulated ice fishing shelter. One person can set up in less than 5 minutes. Insulation is already done. Eskimo 650 or 850 Outbreak come to mind. Simple propane heater and a battery operated carbon monoxide detector and you are golden toasty warm. Comfy cot and almost as good as home. The 650 is almost 100 square feet and the 850 is well over that - easy sleep 4 in cots if you are camping instead of ice fishing.
