Default Power of Social Media - sometimes good

Was doing rounds today at the various water treatment plants that my company operates and had the door open on one of the plants as i was moving chemicals into the building. Well in walks a hound.

Beautiful female with a GPS collar but no other tags. This is in the middle of a subdivision. She was clearly lost, confused and cold. Opened the door to my truck and she hopped right in, sat long enough for me to take a quick pic and than laid down on the front passenger seat. I turned the seat heater on to medium and she was pretty quickly nodding off.

I figured there was a good chance her GPS battery was dead so posted a pic on a local community facebook group saying where i found her. Within 6 minutes someone recognized her and 45 minutes later her owner picked her up and confirmed the GPS was dead. He was very grateful. The hound:

The wilderness is not a stadium where I satisfy my ambition to achieve, it is the cathedral where I worship.

Well done! There are few moments better than returning a lost dog to its owners.

I'm happy for the out come of this. However there's something I don't understand. The hound looks well cared for and in decent shape, its wearing a garmin collar and a regular collar. A garmin systems are approx worth a thousand dollars. I see no reasonable reason why the collar has no brass id tag c/w contact info. Worth about 2.50.

    Well done Species!
Someone found my lost setter once. They wanted $500. to return my dog because"they had to take it to the vet to have its nails trimmed." What???? The guy ws a lawyer. NOT saying all lawyers are like that.

Easy enough to guess what happened. "I'll get to putting on ID later as I won't happen to me" Bet anything first thing done will be putting on the tags.

Snakes come in all walks of life. Ya I believe this guy was a snake who happened to be a lawyer, however doesn't make all lawyers a snake.
Got to have faith in the human spirit just as the OP demonstrated.
