Default Pheasant Hunt - Tried a new game farm - Feedback

Wanted to provide some feedback on a new Pheasant game farm we tried on the weekend.
The game farm is called "Cedar Meadows" and it is near Colborne (close to 401 and Big Apple)

We had 4 hunters with us and they put out a total of 20 birds (5 each). Cedar Meadows was very accommodating in that we asked to split the hunt up so that our first drive was 10 birds and then we did another 10. It was nice to take a break, catch our breath have some lunch and then get back @ it for the final 10.

Even with the snow on the ground, the birds were hidden and without a dog we would not have seen or found these birds. Which made it challenging.

The birds all flew well and even with 4 guns (two new hunters with us) we had some challenging shots

Cedar Meadows has a good setup and the landscape is easy walking but @ the same time provides for good cover.

If you are looking for a Pheasant hunt over the holidays (need a break from the in-laws or you want to burn off that turkey dinner) I would recommend giving the folks @ Cedar Meadows a call and schedule a time to get out.
(I was told they do have a few dates open due to they are new...and...if you don't have a dog...they can provide one for your hunt)

    Enjoy.

Looks like fun. How many acres is the place?

Good question, I asked this yesterday and was told they have just over 155 acres...comprised of open fields and forest.
We hunted mostly in the open fields as the snow was a little deep in the forest and it was easier walking in the open area.
And...I forgot to mention they have a club house to where you can sit between hunts or to take the chill off.

That's the problem with game farms for me too little acreage. Would love something 500-600 at a minimum.

Agreed, unfortunately/fortunately the only pheasant hunting with that many acres close to here would be Pelee island.

I don't think so. Although I wondered the same thing.

They have different phone numbers for bookings. An d Birds Eye sure doesn't have GSPs.

I was at Birds Eye in Dec for a Vets event, and it was great. Nice to see that there's others around as well.
