2023 perching
The fishing was good once I found them caught 100s of jumbos from several locations around the lake. With it being such a late start to the season I didn't figure I would of been out much later than last year but we got another few weeks. Last year my last outing was the 18th this year the may 27th.
Ended up keeping 44 perch for the season 3 smaller ones badly hooked on 3 separate occasions. One on a northern lake so 43 from simcoe, gave my buddy 12 of those as he was craving some perch. Bagged up 15 for a later date in baggs of 5 from my last 2 trips and had a few good fresh meals.
All in all it was a great winter. All the bigger fish went back to swim another day. Lots of good size ones released too as it was only a few days towards the end I started keeping a few.

Nice work! I saw some guys out today around Willow Beach. Looked pretty dicey out there.
I'm only a casual fisherman, still managed the best season I've had ice fishing. Managed a good meal every outing for Simcoe Perch.

Went into sibalds yesterday just to see if I could see the open water from vb . 2 guys were there trying to figure out how to pay they wanted to go fishing. My wife was wondering what ice they wanted to fish on lol. I fished last Monday but would fished of Wednesday if I could of. I'm not a last ice guy never the last but could always be the first.
Glad you had a good season heard many reports of better then normal. The lake had a few years with little pressure even so less this year in areas. One good area nobody fished it because there were no operators out bringing the crowds. Next year should be good and fishing the perch primarily this season again again I learned some lessons.
