Well more and more talk of these cities.

Kamloops just announced it think Winnipeg is think is open to it ,Toronto is seeing its first smart city in the old airport area.

What are your thoughts? The un made 5 pilot programs last year.

Some problems and concerns. Places that started this is making people travel further to get around theses car free zones. Adding to more traffic congestion. Restrictions and and yearly allotted kms meaning you can only go so far without being penalized. You won't need to go 3 towns over so don't.

The Canadian City planners should look at how its done in Europe, with higher price of gas, more congestion, and more pollution to deal there are many solutions over there that we could be implementing here.

If I worked in the service industry and had to walk further then your driveway, the charge would go from 100 / hr to approx 1000 / hr.
Want you fridge delivered 1000 bucks in advance, stove same thing, electrician 1000 / hr.

Oh no, the camera's are enforcing security, hahahaha, how many of those scenarios have we scene and you couldn't identify King Kong if he was 10 feet from the camera. The outcome, go tell your insurance and watch the rates go up. Nuts. Cops are stuffing donuts while we are being robbed.

They plan on using the face recognition system so I'm thinking sooner than later they will know exactly who is where and when. These cities won't be built anytime soon so still awhile yet. They probably already have lots of data on people's faces people us them with their phones all the time.

Soon we will have numbers or your name will pop up over the camera as you walk down the rd. Air Canada is going to be or is already using it

The problem is that 15 minute cities don't provide what people who live in the suburbs want. You can't fit a Canadian Tire, a walmart and a Superstore grocery store into a 15 minute city. Designing 15 minute cities in Canada is an attempt to solve a problem which does not exist. I have the same thoughts on this as all the 'build back better' BS - which if you have noticed - didn't occur. And there is a reason why it didn't and it's the same reason 15 minute cities aren't going to catch on. Things are the way they are because that's what works best for the people involved. The sprawling suburbs we have today didn't occur in a vacuum that could have turned out differently if some politician had decided that 15 minute cities were the way to go. The suburbs we have today exist because that is what people wanted - and still want today.

The transition is the biuld back better still lots of talks and part of the budget is on the transition. I've asked for 2 years what the transition would cost most Canadians many are clueless to the cost it will cost us.

Biuld back better is in full swing and will us a good portion of the next few budgets.

"Building back better" - the 2020 version involves dumping a billions into subsidized child care and indigenous initiatives. Nothing is being built. Just a whack of spending that Canada can't afford. The last budget doesn't even contain the phrase "build back" - in 270 pages. Not even planning to build anything - just spend, spend, spend.
