The Elk re-introduction program hasn't worked out as well as everyone hoped. Reason's for that are always up for discussion. I'm not sure if the program is beyond salvaging or not. I'm old enough to remember when an Elk tag was included with Deer tag.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

I remember my dad mentioning this. Do you recall what year(s) "elk" was also on a "deer" tag? Are we talking 1960? 1970s?

    Thanks

I have a back patch that came with a hunting license that was required to be visible while hunting dated 1972. I believe the tags were sold separately after that when the back patch requirement was eliminated.

The only things that gets “managed” are people wanting to use resources. The closest way that wildlife is managed is by manipulating habitat (through human intervention).
