While you can open them with one hand, they are not "centrifugal knives", nor are they spring loaded - so you might be okay.

Best to order from a Canadian retailer if you want anything that opens with one hand. I spoke to one of the guys at Bass Pro, and it seems our Government likes the revenue they receive with the large Canadian stores, they don’t seem to want individuals to order on their own. That said, I recently ordered a Case Folding Hunter in carbon steel from a US website and the package arrived at the post office and had been opened by our Border Police based on the cheap yellow tape all over the decimated cardboard box. A couple of years ago I tried to order a red dot sight but was denied because of some ridiculous protocol of not sending from the US to Canada because it's a a firearm accessory. So just for the heck of it I ordered a knife with a 4" fixed blade, and that was no problem.

If you order a Red Dot from a Canadian retailer, you'll have it in your hands within a week.

So the knife on the right is illegal and the knife on the left is legal?! I can open the folding knife using centrical force and without touching the blade so it must be illegal, right?
