New gear anyone
Anyone have their eye on buying new gear for the coming season or are you going to wait and see if we actually get a winter

Hey Terry,
Couple new rods and reels but nothing special in that department. Just replacing worn out stuff. Biggest new piece of kit is a bomber waterproof Otter storage case that stores 8 rods in ready to go fashion. Reels attached, handles on and line and lure on. No more fumbling with cold hands assembling stuff - ready to fish out of the case:

As for fishable ice, hopefully it is better than last year. You know me though i'll just keep driving further north until i find what i want right until the middle of April.

Well I picked up a hook 4 for a good price (149.00) ,now to see if I get a chance to hit the ice and use it

Yes that is a sweet set up. I have been using the Eagle Claw case for about 5-6 years now. Self contained with tackle and rods knives etc.

Googled up that case and it looks pretty good too. Either beats the hell out of the flambeau i have been using for the last 6 years - reels off, handles removed - total pain in the arse. That being said the flambeau only cost me $29 on sale. The new case was significantly more than that.
