Provost isn't in cabinet yet and even if she is it's not worth panicking about. There are plenty of equally anti-gun Liberals in the government, RCMP and civil service. One more won't matter.

Nope not yet but her name was splashed around on the Globe and mail the other day along with another climate activists

Its might be a concern if some idiot does something stupid. With some firearms that hasn't yet been banned yet.

All guns can be used to assault someone. My FIL thinks nobody should own them unless you hunt and then still should be limited a single shot so nobody can go on a shooting spree.

Do we blame the black suv for the tragedy that unfolded last week? Or the person behind the wheel . Shootings should be no different it's the person responsible not the tool they used. Unfortunately we blame the tool rather than the person when it comes to firearms.


1 is all it takes for the law abiding citizens to loose their privileges. We should rid all the activists from government lol some of them have have large friends.

No but already there is a review in progress for harm reduction namely the need/requirements for measures to prevent/minimize such incidents from happening again.
So when it comes to firearms how do we balance individual rights and society protection. Fair question how many shots are reasonable for hunting and too many for civil harm reduction?

Since the Trudeau government came into power, gun violence involving criminals has noticeably increased. Instead of cracking down on lawbreakers, the focus seems to be on targeting law-abiding gun owners.

Maybe it’s time to get serious about keeping violent offenders behind bars.

Take the tragic case of the Nova Scotia shooter. Trudeau initially claimed the firearms were sourced from Canadian hunters and farmers. That turned out to be false—the killer had smuggled them in from the U.S. Even worse, the RCMP had received multiple reports that this individual had illegal firearms, and that he had even built a near-perfect replica of a police cruiser—yet they failed to act.

This wasn’t just a local policing failure. The RCMP reports to the federal government. That means accountability ultimately rests with Ottawa.
