Wow only ten days I hope mine comes that fast , I was on the phone with them yesterday and was told it could be 6-8 weeks , I'm in a slight predicament as I lost my wallet not long ago and had to replace everything , I asked if there was anyway to expidete the process and was told no but because I need my licence for my job the put me in touch with the Ontario CFO to see if they could do anything for me and was told there was not much they could either but was told that when police check your name they know weather you have a valid pal or not , and their advise was it was the officers discretion as to charges if you do not have it with you

Mine took just over 6 months to get to my house. And my buddy how applied at the same time took about 7 almost 8 months to receive his PAL.
Good luck!

Was this a NEW or a renewal. Renewal's don't seem to take as long. I have had mine for over 25 years now.

My PAL will be up for renewal shortly after New Years. I guess I should start NOW?

I would trimmer , what I was told by the CFO office is that normally they only print cards once a week at the firearms centre so that leads to some of the delay , as mine is a renewal I hope it does not take that long

mine was fairly quick and heard nothing, nor did my wife or references.
dad did his a year earlier and they inquired as to how long he had been married. think that was the extent of his questioning too. simple process.

A friend took received his first hunting license this year. While we were talking about our upcoming hunts I told him to make sure he had all his licenses and seals in order and I mentioned his PAL. He forgot to send away for it, he didn't think it was required because he already owned guns. This might turn out disastrous for his season now, especially if it takes a while to receive it. He just sent away for it last Friday.
That being said however; since he has his his deer tag, small game license, duck stamp, etc. and he is just missing his PAL; does that mean he can still come along on hunts, and participate (as a dogger for example, or calling geese); just not shoot? Futhermore, although it would limit my shooting - can he shoot using my gun, as long as there is only one gun between us?
Ugh, I just hope it comes in before small game starts - I've hunted alone, but honestly; I enjoy hunting with a buddy and sharing in the thrill of the hunt.

Yes he can help with the hunting, or even hunt as long as you( or some one else that has a PAL) is standing with in arms length of him well he has a firearm in his hands. Don't let him carry any shells in his pockets or pack, it just takes one moment for him to get charged when you or he walks off behind that tree for some relief.
Take the warning labels off. Darwin will solve the problem.
