Definitely hold on to that paper until you get the T card.
I took and passed the course, used the paper to buy my first turkey tag, then after that turkey season threw it away assuming my renewal card would have the turkey endorsement.
Long story short, my results never were submitted by the examiner as they should have, and there is no record of me taking the course. Although I have a copy of the confirmation when I signed up and paid for the course, I still need to take the test again. Trust me, they will do nothing for you. I tried to get it sorted out. Funny thing, I paid on Visa, and they also have no financial record. Makes you wonder where the money goes. I know this is probably an isolated case, but still, a big hassle, so I would suggest holding on to the paper for awhile.

Ok so you throw away your test after you bought your tag. The mnr has no record that you passed because the instructor never submitted it to them. Do you not still have your 2013 turkey licence? Thats all you need to show. As for carrying the test in the field with you.....if you are stopped by a co and you show your outdoors card small game and turkey licences i really dont think they are going to turn around and say this card doesnt have a T on it where is your test? You have to show your test proving you passed to buy a turkey licence. Pretty lame if a co tried to pull that and it stuck.

Here's a simple solutions, fold up the carbon copy and put it deep in your hunting pack, it weighs nothing and takes up no room. that way you will always have it and there will be no second guessing! haha I have a T on my card, I know for fact if I didn't I would be carrying the paperwork to back it up just in case. Who knows what mood the CO is in when he comes your way in the bush. "Better Safe Than Sorry" approach.

I have a wallet I keep in my pack with all of important documents in it, it is on my checklist when getting ready to leave the house. My PAL, Outdoors Card(with T, 3 yr Fishing and 3 yr Small Game), Migratory Stamp, OFAH Membership, Ganaraska Membership, Pleasure Craft License, Second Health Card, and I also keep any tags in this wallet as well. I am sure if I got any new paper work, I can easily just fold it up and put it in there, no hassle and I am legal for anything I am doing. It just makes sense to me really, why risk it?

    Just my 2 cents,

This thread was confusing to follow. In the field, you only need to have a valid outdoors card and a turkey seal. The "T" doesn't have to be punched in for a newbie, because the mere fact you have a tag will let the officer know you have passed Turkey Ed.

The bit from the regs is directed at first timers going to a service Ontario, where they would need to show their certificate. That said, stick it in a drawer somewhere until you get your new card if you want some piece of mind.

Just having a tag doesn't mean anything to me if I'm a CO, in the Spring you can buy 2 tags, from a CO's perspective, what if you just got the tag from someone who had 2? Correct me if I am wrong, but the Tag does not have your name on it, does it?

Ill refer to my previous post, "Better Safe Than Sorry!"

Yes the Turkey licence/seal does have your name and outdoors card # on it, I just checked mine from last year.

Have been hunting Turkey now for probably 15 years and have never been stopped by a CO and have never heard of anyone else being stopped as well. . Just carry the paper with you to be on safe side and don,t worry and go shoot one. I live in Peterborough and we grow the CO,s here . Good Luck
