The video is in English.
He states the whole time that he really should not have walked up that close, he should not have...
He had a misfire when he tried to finish off the moose, that would suck. I know a guy who had a misfire when staring down a big black bear at 15 yards on the ground, lets just say he said the click was a lot louder to him then a bang would have been. This friend actually put that gun away for the week and went back to a lever 30-30 with sights rather than risk that with his 30-06 again.

My mistake, I had the volume turned off so as not to disturb my wife's concentration on the soap she was watching, as all the captioning was French I just assumed the audio would be as well, the misfire was possibly a lack of a cartridge in the chamber?
Hope for the best, prepare for the worst!

Great video...
I don't think he is a moron at all; sometimes life happens....no-one is perfectand I am sure he is posting this video so others can learn from it, no need tobash him/them. If anything I am impressed with them for having the dignity toshow how it really went down, very easy to pass judgment from the comfort ofyour home.
Thanks for posting

His demeanour as he's narrates the hunt and the fact the knows he's doing stupid things but does them anyway means he's a moron...there is no self-deprecation, no 'you shouldn't do this", no lessons learned.
It wasn't a 'life happens' he made it 'happen'. Yes he is a moron.

It's a lot easier to look back at the video and say 'that's stupid' - not so easier when you're on the ground.
The poor judgement I see was in
- immediately pursuing the wounded moose - literally running after it
- splitting up and pursuing it - that is all out dangerous
- forgetting to rack in a fresh round after the shot at the running moose
- walking right up to the downed animal when you could see it was still alive - had its head up
I'd put that more on a level of getting excited and making questionable decisions than being an idiot.

He must not have had another round in the gun or it was a dud because you can definately hear a crack.when he pulls the trigger . Only way that can happen is if the firearm was cocked which usually means a racked round unless there wasn't one to come up , or a misfire . Shat happens . I won't call him an idiot or moron though . I think he was lucky and somebody was smiling down on him . LOL

Some guns would still , but that really does not matter.
I know of a guy who racked all the ammo out of his gun on to the ground with out pulling the trigger.
Dumb things have happened, yes he was stupid for linking yourself to it online but then again it does show what might happen if you do things wrong.
