This has received a lot of interest over on the GunNutz Forum. Further to what Gilroy said about police officers not knowing much about guns - several GunNutz members knew nothing about modern in-line muzzleloaders (one guy argued that it wasn't, in fact, a muzzle loader at all). And this from guys who belong to a Forum for "gun nuts"!

The general public (police officers included) know absolutely nothing about firearms other than the BS they see on TV and the movies. They are more than willing to believe anything about "assault weapons", "sniper rifles" that is written/said by the press.

I would only suspect there is something else going on here. My experience with Peel Regional Police is they are (or at least were ) a very knowledgable group of gentlemen. I performed work on their heating and Air conditioning plants throughout the county in 2000. I was there when the officers found a grenade launcher and some grenades on the side of the road.

So I'm thinking smoke screen for what? I don't know, but watch out something is coming down the line. And the drug take? not even a full "bag of laughs"

On Wednesday, March 5, 2014, a search warrant was executed at 78 Braemar Drive. Seized from the residence was a .50 calibre Savage Arms MLII (muzzle loader) hunting rifle and 3.8 ounces of marihuana.

Seems they got the message after enough people posted on the website - nothing stings worse than laughter.
