I'm no fan of the MNR but in this case let's just leave it up to the biologists.
A bit late on that subject but do you have any information about that? I would like to read about it.
Thanks

They should just put all the tags up for auction.

I'm guessing that's a bit of sarcasm, but it would be better than what we have now.

They are looking at a 91% reduction in adult tags in zone 28 this fall.
I’m suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I trust a dog who doesn't like a person.

I am somewhat serious about an auction of tags, maybe 5% of the tags. Let's face it, there are lots of moose hunters that have the money. Why not get a few hundred bucks for a few tags. Put a reserve price of $500 on them.
Maybe they should change the tag lottery to the same as the Elk draw. Successful hunters can't get a tag again for 4 years. What would you say to only hunting once every 4 years?

Your idea makes sense to me. OFAH is opposed to that in that it is 'unfair' to hunters that cannot do not have the cash for that. OFAH is actually a huge part of the MNR's moose draw - they support the status quo.

Our camp would certainly be in agreement to purchase an adult tag if the cost were in the $500 range. As far as a tag every 4 years would also be good, but with no tag I would still use our camp and bird hunt.

Stick a $500 on as a reserve for a tag is elitest like in the Kngdom . For a camp maybe . Auction to highest bidder . ? Yup, you will even get me talked into poaching like Robin Hood .
