I went to the farm where I hunt deer,,,,,to put out some salt....the farmer told me that a coyote was carrying away a 40 lb. young lamb at 9;00 am in the morning 4 days ago,,,,,,,,,,,,he managed to chase it off and recover his lamb//////do I go and try to call it in and kill it,,,,,,,is the question?? it might be a female???
I will go with general consensus of the gang on this web site.........I dont want to get shot down

I would guess that if you were to shoot a coyote for the farmer it would give him a little bit of revenge feeling and probly give you a atta boy. Unfortunately it might be a mother tending her pups, that will have to be a personal choice of yours. I personally would have no problem helping the farmer protect his animals and lively hood.

I would take it out personally. I guarantee the farmer wants it gone.

I would shoot EVERY coyote if it was killing livestock no matter the time of the year.
A mother that brings back livestock to her den teaches her pups that they are free game as well.

I think it's your duty to help the farmer. if you kill one of the yotes the other might set up a den some where else saving the farmer from a lot of misery. Brent

Just curious. Why would you feel like a hypocrite? This is about predator/pest destruction, pure and simple.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

Has too much time on their hands
The only good coyote is a dead coyote. Sure it sucks if she a mom with pups.. But we have WAY too many yotes as it is... Shoot em on site.
