PDF copy of magazine
Just wondering if there are any plans for a PDF format for the magazine? I subscribe to a series of digital magazines from Wolfe Publishing that features three magazines, delivered by an emailed link to the download site. I get one issue about every three weeks. Eighteen issues per year for less than $20/year.
I like to save them to my iPod and read them when I am at the doctors office, etc. It makes it easier to store them, one little memory stick versus boxes of paper copies. It would save the Federation on printing and postage costs for those members that are interested.
I am in the process of converting the old OOD articles I have saved over the years to PDF and havIng entire issues delivered in PDF would be a big time saver.

That would be handy. I'd love to have them on my tablet.

A few questions for the admins. Now that the magazine has announced that they will start an electronic/digital version of the magazine, do we know what format it will be? ie. PDF, ePub, etc. Will it be a stand alone file format or will we need to have software to read it and only online? Will we be able to archive our personal copies on a hard drive?
I realize that some of this information may not be decided and/or shared with the admins at this time, but I'm sure we'd all like to know. I'm sure you will do your best to share the information as it becomes available.

You are in luck. OOD is launching a digital issue with the September Hunting Annual. If you subscribe to the digital version, you will get the entire year of back issues and you will be able to download them as a PDF. Watch for subscription details on the website and in the e-newsletter.

I have a bit of an issue with this, I always take my older copies or OOD and drop them off at the doctor's office, at the dentist, any place where there are magazines left out to read. It might get a little expensive to be leaving E-readers at those offices,,,,,

Don't worry. The print version isn't going anywhere, we are just adding a digital version. So if you subscribe to both, you could still leave your paper copies at the doctor's office but have a digital archive on your computer as well. Win-win! :P
