Oliva Chow wants to ban your handguns
Got to love a career politician telling the public what they want to hear for votes. Todays press conference she announced that she wants to ban handguns in Toronto. A political promise with no teeth but sure looks good to stir the pot for votes. Hope the public is smarter than that.

Toronto....smarter than that....they did vote in a corrupt government. I don't think "smart" would be a great descriptor !

Saw that half hr ago and almost threw my dinner at the tv. What we dont need is an umemployed lady telling other people what they can do in their own time.

No, she doesn't want to ban your handguns. She wants to dupe a bunch of people into believing that she has some kind of policy on crime, by promising to do something that the city has no legal power to do.
She is also promising to work with other big city mayors to "tighten restrictions to stop the flow of illegal guns" from the States. Not sure which restrictions she intends to tighten. Perhaps she plans to make smuggling really, really illegal instead of just, you know, illegal.
Same old electioneering BS.

Trust me, she will get plenty of traction with this ridiculous announcement. Don't be too surprised when Wynne hops on that bandwagon also. Not that either of these idiots have jurisdiction over firearms or border security but the lefties will lap this up quicker than a Starbucks grande latte.

I understand people wanting to be safe, but has anyone asked how any of the shootings would have been prevented by this proposal?
Make sure you have finished speaking before your audience has finished listening.

Don't need to ask, the answer, to anyone intelligent enough to understand the issue, is zero!

Technically aren't they already banned? You have to be licensed, take a course, have a clean record....she makes it sound like anyone can get a hangun legally at the local sporting goods store. Maybe she should say ban the criminals. The previous mayor David Miller was successful in closing down the gun ranges in Toronto. The one at union station that most in toronto didn't even know about. Only the law abiding citizens suffer.

She's a typical left wing union socialist. They're good at selling bullshyte to people that are too lazy and unintelligent to think for themselves. Right now,Toronto and Ontario are full of them. Toronto would be better off with Rob Ford than this idiot.

I think it's time that Torontario should become its own province , then the rest of us Ontarions could live in peace .
