,Turkey,and,Deer,population, in Erin
My brother in law just bought a home in the area with a piece of land, they have seen some turkeys on their property, but I'm wondering how strong the turkey and deer population is in the area. Does anyone hunt this area? They live off the 8th line in Erin. Any info would be appreciated.

The good new is if you are seeing turkey you will most likely have deer as they share the same type of habitat.
I deer hunt WMU 87 by Moffatt, and also just down Guelph line/ 20th SR in WMU 79, both of which are not far from you. Last year was my second year hunting 87 so I don't have much history but compared to 79, 87 is much better. IMHO 79 has been on the decline in the past 20 years with so much home construction during that time. I don't know your area exactly but my hot spots are all close to or inside swamps, look for high ground surrounded by water. I find baiting does not work due to the corn and apples close by, set up your tree stands as high as you can as the deer are heavily hunted. Don't be discouraged though as they are there, just a matter of hunting smart.
Here is a pic of my set up in Moffatt where I have had success, it is surrounded on 3 sides by knee deep water. Attachment 26435

I work in Agriculture, drive through that area a lot. It has a good population of deer and turkey. Great spot!

Just like Mox72 said, bird numbers good. Not bad deer numbers too!
