Berkley Gulp Jigheads and BDS
I'm wondering if anyone has tried these out and what they think of them.

I haven't but they look like they'd work better than the cast heads with the small barb at the head.
"Camo" is perfectly acceptable as a favorite colour.

I'm going to see if I can pick some up some time today and hopefully try them out within a couple of weeks.

I've looked at the new Berkley jig heads and they look OK but are expensive. Have a look for Lunker City jig heads. I've used these for years and find them very good and about the same price but you get more and have more weight size selection. Not everyone carries them so you will have to look for them. I do know that Trombly's in Orillia did carry them but not sure if they have them now. The do have another brand that is even cheaper but I can't remember the name. They work well too. I find unpainted works just as well as painted and if you want a different color just carry a couple of bottles of nail polish. A drop of waterproof Crazy glue type glue also helps keep plastic baits on just about all kinds of jigs. Just be careful. Some say putting your hand in water immediately works but others say that putting them in water cures the glue faster. When you buy the glue buy a bottle of the glue remover just o be on the safe side. Good Luck

LOL That's funny.
But ya they're over a buck each. Pretty expensive

Thats an insane price for a jighead. Lose one along with the swivel and you're looking at over a $1.50 each time. I can easily lose 10 jigs on a days pickerel fishing, especially when those friggin pike get involved.
After figuring out the costs I finally bought my own jig molds. Because I have lead and a melting pot from casting bullets for my ML I can make a 1/2 oz jig for about 4 cents. They're about a buck each at CTC.
If you're using minnows you don't need glue on eyes and I doubt they're needed even when using rubber tails.

Best jigs I've ever used are Bass Pro XPS walleye jigs;
http://answers.basspro.com/answers/2.../questions.htm
A similar style to the ones you have posted up there but angled to "stand up" to give the fish an easier time at hitting. I've slammed walleyes on them and use them for jigging plastics for simcoe lakers too... They have great colors now, but they use to have a holographic gold that was deadly on walleye. They've discontinued it, I think it might have been too pricey to print them.

So I bought a couple of these and they look pretty good, but the one thing I couldn't find is the bigger hook models.
