Are guys eating the river monsters they're hauling back to their vehicles or are they just removing the eggs when they get home?

My personal favourite was seeing guys fishing in Bowmanville using bare hooks with weights. That and the weighted but otherwise bare jig head. The best quote I heard yelled there this weekend was "if you can get those fish, right now, to bite your walleye jig, then you are an amazing angler".
And she thinks we’re just fishin’ on the riverside, throwin’ back what we could fry. Drownin’ worms and killin’ time, nothin’ too ambitious.

At least the one guy asked where he could find the rules.... that guy was using a sinker for bait on his 5/0 worm hook

In the slanting sun of late afternoon the shadows of great branches reached from across the river, and the trees took the river in their arms

That's my point when they stop eating they enter the spawning stage and darken to me that fish that has entered the spawning stage is no longer fresh, it may be fresh from the lake but its been staging for a couple weeks at that point. Also to marksbellino I fish in the lake from early to late august and 90% of the fish we get on riggers are chrome. Also it takes me around a half hour to land a chrome salmon on 10 pound line unless its a coho. Almost all salmon jump when you are fighting them especially males if you are judging that they are fresh by the fact that they jump you are hugely mistaken.
LOL 10 Lb test on riggers, no wonder we get fish with spoons and lines stuck in their mouth

Almost all Salmon Jump? out of the 40 + Salmon i've got this season, not one has jumped. And this late in the year all our fish have been Dark.

I think you are confusing Bows with Kings, cause bows are aerodynamic athletes in relation to Salmon

Anyways, to each their own. I've been eating 40"+ salmon out of the lake now regularly for years and haven't started glowing yet...

You might not be glowing yet, but I think its affecting your judgement.
