Has too much time on their hands
Irish setter gunflint.2
Bought these yesterday.. took them hunting today.. and they split..
They were comfy boots.. but I won't be getting the same ones... for a$160 I expect more than one hunt in the stand lol....
Suggestions for new boots? Thinking of the danner...

I'm using a pair of Irish Setter rut masters this year and have logged many many miles in them. No problem yet.
I’m suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I trust a dog who doesn't like a person.

I'm surprised they split. I assume you took them back without any problems. I'd be pizzed is that happened to me. I have a pair of Setters and am happy with them so far. Boots are important tools. Good luck with the replacements.

Ii just retired my Irish Setters after this years deer hunt. Had to have had them over 12 years. Worn but no holes or splits. Just not warm anymore. Gotta pair of Mucks for next season. Hope your dealer gives you some satisfaction...................................Boo g

Call Irish Setter. You are with in warranty to get them fixed or replaced.

Mine lasted me 3 years. The right one split in Moose season and the left one split in Deer season this year. They are a great boot, too bad they did not last longer. they will now be my "back up" boots.
You have enemies? Good. That means you stood up for something sometime in your life!

With only one season on mine I consider the jury still out. Comfortable boot but let's hope I get a few seasons out of them. Was going to try Mucks but they don't make a wider size like I need.

Taking then back to bass pro.. although they were extremely comfy... they were to warm... causing my feet to sweat on the walk in.. causing cold feet on the stand... and it wasn't even that cold yesterday... they ripped as I took them off.
I won't be getting the gunflint boots again... in going to look for 600 gram this time.. as 800 gram doesn't seem to be made any more.

If you are getting another pair of Irish Setters, try to get a pair of elk trackers or black bears. At least they are all leather. I've been using a pair of Black Bears this season (400 grams of thinsulate), and they are o.k. so far. They're obviously not top quality boots, but they don't seem too bad. I have these boots and a pair of decent quality hikers. I like the hikers better, and I'm sure they will outlast the Irish Setters.

It was actually the leather that split...
