never found the bear to take a pic... hence why some outfitters are hesiatant to take on bow hunters... not saying that they alll wont, but some dont like to, but most will accomodate... i think that is more or less the point sawbill was making...

also like he said, why alot of outfitters wont take on a local is it is easy for the local now to mark the spot on gps, toss a bait close by to the outfitter, let him do all the work, and the local reaps the rewards. same problem i had this year, dude sets up a bait less than a 100 yards from my bait, on the same trail

That was a beautiful bit of baiting right there. Nearly walked into it myself. Had the "you forgot the pic" typed up and the light went on just when I reached for the mouse to click post.

Many Ontario outfitters are in it just to fill their cabins. Hunters need to do their homework before booking a bear hunt, archery or not. There are genuine archery bear hunting outfitters in Ontario. Skull is one of those genuine archery bear outfitters!!

Also a few guys will work for a bear outfitter once or twice and call them self a bear guide!!

Out of the group of hunters each week, we have a hunter hunting on his own. Never, in 40 years, have we had a resident bear hunter in camp. We are 1200 miles from Toronto, why travel this far when they can hunt their back yards for bears. I take resident deer hunters.

That is totally despicable. If I got it right, this guy is a local who knew where your bait was and set up that close? What an arse. I would be livid. Any chance you could at least talk to the jerk? I can think of a few things I'd like to do if in your shoes.

    Cheers
