Default All the Gear, none of the know how! (YOTES)

    Hello All,

As you may have seen I am active in the deer and waterfowl sections of the forums as that is what I primarily hunt every year.

I finally decided to start thinning the heard on the one property that I have permission on!

I got myself a tikka t3 .243, a carl zeiss conquest, an alpha dogg primos caller, and a mojo outdoors critter decoy, and am all ready to go!

Then I remembered I have no idea how to hunt coyotes lol.

Where do i sit ? (middle of the field, edge of the bush?) where do i put the call (middle of the field or bush line), how long should I call for?

Any info would be appreciated, I don't have the luxury of moving around to different spots down the road ect as I have just the one property.

The property has yotes, as ive seen them on cam and tracks in the mud!

    Thanks guys!

    -Steve

Read and go back in Threads and read more you'll get it. 2 years ago not many called them, today everyone on HO knows the secret lol

The best advice I can give you is - learn by your own mistakes, but keep one thing in mind. For every coyote you call in, you educate 3 and the game only gets harder.

I was going to say something along the same lines.....Be very stealthy with your one property because you are going to get figured out in a hurry, smart critters.

We can get together after the new year if you like, and go out to a place I know. That way you can learn/practice on crown land.

Always nice to have some one along. I am going any ways, you may as well come along.

    P.S. Do you have snowshoes?
Take the warning labels off. Darwin will solve the problem.
